How it works

Three steps, about a minute

  1. 1

Pick your business and a search

Find your Google listing and say what a customer would search for, for example "pizza restaurant in New York".

  2. 2

We read your profile and the top 3

We read your Google Business Profile and the profiles of the three businesses Google Maps shows first for that search.

  3. 3

    Get a score with fixes

You get a score out of 100, a grade, and a list of fixes with the most valuable first. It is also emailed to you.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the score measure?

Fourteen things that are in your control: your categories, description, opening hours, photos, reviews, rating, website, phone number, whether the profile is claimed, services and attributes. Each has a weight out of 100. If we could not read one of them, it is left out and the rest are re-weighted, so a gap on our side never costs you points.

Why compare with the top 3?

A score on its own does not tell you much. The businesses at the top of the map for your search show what Google rewards where you are: how many photos and reviews, which main category. Matching them is a clearer goal than a number.

Does it change my profile?

No. The grader only reads what anyone can see on Google. It never logs into your profile and never edits anything.

How often should I check again?

After you make changes, and then about once a month. The result is kept for a day, so checking again the same day shows the same answer. The full product watches your profile every day and emails you when something changes.

Are categories the same as keywords?

No. Categories are a fixed list that Google gives you to pick from, and the main one matters most. Keywords go in your description and services, in plain words. Do not put keywords in your business name: Google can suspend profiles for it.
